Jaliqa's Reflection of DOT Training- 5th Day

Today was my last day of training. This has really been an exciting week for me.  I got to meet new people, gain new knowledge, and share the knowledge I already had. I think we had the best trainers there could possibly be. They were patient, caring, and considerate. Thanks a lot guys. Even though it was the last day they still presented some amazing knowledge to us. I think Skype is a wonderful program.  We also discussed conflict resolution and overcoming obstacles. One of the best answers to those situations was having a back up plan. I really enjoyed training and is looking forward to having a great year as a DOT Intern.

Jaliqa's Reflection of DOT Training - 4th Day

Today was yet another amazing but taskful day. We learned about open office programs. In the process of learning about office programs, we were introduced to screen capturing. We had a chance to work with Jing and Cam Studio which are both screen capturing programs. I learned something very vital about open office programs. No matter what their ratings are, they don't always work. After that we went into digital story telling. Whoever came up with this deserves a grammy in my opinion. I really enjoyed this project because this was the first video I made and I had the star role. My group did an excellent job, that just how I like to think about it. Today was great, I can't wait to see what new knowledge I will gain tomorrow.

Jaliqa's Introduction

Jaliqa's Reflection of DOT Training- 3rd Day

Today was another amazing day. We started the day off with a group project where we discussed Observation and Visits. It went well. All the groups had a different piece of information each time they presented, which was great.Later that day we had an excellent time with Jason and Elgin with the promethean board. I feel like every classroom should have one. This board was unbelievable. We ended the day with our introductions and that was also fun.I finally had a chance to see how I look on the big screen. I think I did well for my first time. I am eager to see what new knowledge I will gain tomorrow.

Jaliqa's Reflection of DOT Training-2nd Day

Today was even better than yesterday. We started the morning off with a small review and went into a project that was a great task. We made movies which I found to be very interesting. In the process of helping prepare the movie, I kept saying this technology is getting better everyday. I was in a group where everybody was very cooperative and that made the project flow so smoothly. We were pleased with our end results and hope everyone was also. I say day 2 was great and I am eager to see what day 3 holds.

Jaliqa's Reflection of DOT Training- 1st Day

Today I started my training as a DOT intern and it was great.  I met some new people which is always a pleasure.  I also gained some new knowledge which is always a winner in my book.  I had some excellent instructors and they were very kind and patient. Each time we went over a lesson the technology amazed me more and more. Some great things can be done with this technology, that's why I can't wait to complete training and take the knowledge I've gained and share it with others. I really enjoyed my first day and I'm looking forward to the great things that are in store for us to learn the rest of the week.

Jaliqa's First Day of DOT Training

This morning we started off with a true and false ice breaker.Once we broke the ice and loosened up a little Ms. Jackson informed us of the house rules. One of the main rules was no cell phones, because it would be difficult to use your cell phone and gain the proper knowledge that they are trying to incorporate about the technology. She also discussed our dress code, chewing gum, and proper language. We are the faces of DOT and our image says a lot about us.Some responsibilities of  DOT interns are to incorporate technology into the different learning environments,be on time, dress professionally, and aid the teachers to the best of our ability. Some of our goals while working with DOT are: to enhance knowledge through technology in the learning environments, to take all knowledge that is gained throughout this training and incorporate it into new and fun ways of learning about technology and how to use it, to be one the best faces of  DOT for the 2010-2011 school year, and to keep a positive attitude and always have a backup plan for any task given.
